English Homework Sheets Year 7 English Tests

It is essential that students in this age group have an understanding of everyday topics - politics, the world around us, people's rights and beliefs. They should be encouraged to analyse what they see and hear on TV and the radio, and to read a variety of newspapers, so that they they are aware of a variety of viewpoints before forming their own opinions.  Here you will find some more advanced writing tasks on a variety of subjects and in various forms. At this age pupils should be able to embrace all forms of writing including: letter writing, debating, Shakespeare and compiling dissertations. KS3 spelling can be found on the spelling page.

Comprehension

Pickwick papers, Frankenstein and Jane Eyre are comprehension topics which will help pupils extend vocabulary and ensure that pupils can analyse, form an opinion and enjoy passages from famous books.
